The Sacramento Area Animal Coalition has announced the next Spay Day to be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012. This program provides an affordable option to spay and neuter dogs and cats for income qualified families living within the Sacramento and Yolo Counties. Qualifying household incomes need to be $35,000 per year or less, and proof of income is required. The fee is $20 per dog and $15 per cat.
If your household income is more than $35,000, don’t worry! Visit the Low-Cost Spay Neuter Programs page to see a list of low cost clinics.
I think this program is great because it helps prevent an increase in our homeless animal population. It is heartbreaking to see unwanted litters of kittens and puppies surrendered at the shelter when it could have been preventable. Please spread the word to families who can benefit from these programs.
Don’t forget to visit the Making A Spay Day Appointment page to secure an appointment starting on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
